TWO WEEKS!!!!
I have been looking at the lifestyles of my friends with children and seeing how differently they live to what Brian and I are used to. I am very organized and detailed, and most of my friends tell me to throw that out the window once the baby comes, hahahaha!

Oh best wishes guys, our little man is due at about the same time.

I haven't changed much... I was still organizing in a different rithym I think.
Of course I didn't worry to have all done as soon as I came from Hospital but as soon as me, baby and dad ajusted to the new reality, scedules and habits, it was just a matter to return to our ways.
First days are the easier and the toughest because it changes all, without really changing.
So you just have to wait out by living and enjoying. Lots.
Things aren't important, people (and that Precious is the most important) are. So don't really fret about things... though some times looks like, it doesn't and in the general scope that's just a tiny bitsy deal of time.
Btw, my son in now a 22 yo man and my daughter a 14 yo teenager.
You'll survive and so will he.
Wishing you the Best,
Teresa
Two weeks! How exciting!!! I am not a mama myself but wishing you all the best with little D!
OOhh! I can't wait just 2 weeks! Wow!Best book ever for a baby that sleeps you must read (on becoming)Baby Wise! Sleep wasn't an issue and we had LOTS of energy for our new baby (I started and completed my Masters program with a newborn b/c he was such a great babe!) My fav advice ever was happy Mommy ='s Happy baby. Can't wait for lots of pics and stories! Just do what feels right!
congrats on the new baby on the way! My advice is that it takes about 2 or 3 months to get into the swing of things, and then your oganization skills can come back full force, until then, enjoy your little one and squeeze them a little extra for me, I love new babies!
OH and I just read what SASSY said, Baby Wise and Happiest Baby on the block were a godsend!
Congratulations, Dionne! So very exciting! I've just found out 2 of my best girlfriends are pregnant and another 2 have only just given birth!

More laundry, less sleep, more messes...and learning that all that isn't really that important! There is so much joy and love! Everything, even simple things, are suddenly exciting and new when seen through your child's eyes! A baby changes your whole outlook on life and what's really important. Also, I truly learned for the first time to completely put someone else's needs before my own. And change is a constant, just when you get used to something they outgrown that thing they did, that sleep schedule, etc. Even at a year & a half, I'm still working on figuring this motherhood thing out...the biggest thing for me is to learn to take each moment, each day, one step at a time. And try to enjoy those early months...they go by so fast and in such a blur as you are adjusting. Best wishes to you and your hubby! So exciting! :)
Praying for a happy healthy baby boy. The most challenging change after my first child was the lack of consistant sleep.
Aww, congrats, Dionne! That's amazing news! :)
so exciting!! Best wishes Dionne!
Congratulations from Italy!

yes your life will change. you don't really get as much free time as before and you find daydreaming about when you used to be able to get up and go without having to worry about a little one ;) but its all worth it.
some tips, if your looking for a babysitter try care.com. I have found pretty much all my sitters from there and they are all great. try gymboree when Dylan turns about 6 months, its a fun class to check out.
I know this is probably a wee bit late...but congratulations! I've not had any babies, so no good advice to give, but wishing you all the love and joy in the world! And a baby who sleeps REALLY well x
Congratulations from Italy!
