The stirring of a latte as I listen to a friend tell me a story, the dunking of a teabag as we recount our workweek, or the clinking of crystal champagne glasses as a jovial toast is made... beverages, even moreso than food are the quiet participant in most social occasions. Sure, food is a great way to share and get together with friends - but beverages are always part of the story. Sometimes we'll have get-togethers where a ceramic mug of latte is more than enough - the stories exchanged are so rich and detailed that there's no need for anything more than quiet sips, or appreciative slurps from a straw.
I would have to say that lattes are my go-to social drink, while Brian's is beer - especially Shiner.
What's your social beverage of choice?

Beautiful post, Dionne! I am boring. Mine is water. Unless I'm really living it up and then it's Shirley Temple.
mine are mojitos with my girlfriends. it reminds us of college years and spontaneous trips to vegas, sitting poolside with a mojito in hand. now when we get together even years later we get them and have tried almost every flavor. my fave is mango.
My social beverage of choice is a bottle of wine. I love trying new wines especially!
I'm a latte girl too. Conversations seem to make the flavor even better, because like you said, it's savored and paired with pleasant conversation.

i would have to say my social beverage of choice is a beer, but i enjoy a good cup of coffee and conversation just as much.
Hydrangeas and iced coffee- two of my favorite things! I also like to sip wine in a social fashion : )

Mime would be a really well made cocktail or earl grey tea when I am need to behave.
In the summer - lemonade, in the winter - apple cider or hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.
Amazing that you've never experienced winter. Really nothing to make a frown about though!

My social drink is usually coffee, but occasionally a cocktail or glass of Riesling.

love the photos! depending on the occasion, my go-to's are chai lattes on cool mornings, chilled prosecco on celebratory evenings, and diet cokes mid-day after nights with not much sleep!
