...............

Seeing all this gorgeous folk-turned-chic art makes me want to find some cross-stitch patterns and make my own little cross-stitch art for our home.

*Cross-stitch inspired mural by Eline Pellinkhof, and cross-stitch necklace from Nea.

*Cross-stitch inspired embroidered top on left from Vilshenko. Top on the right is from Plumo.
I absolutely love that wall mural, don't you? So cute for a girls room, or a parlor or bathroom. And I love how cross-stitch is even making an appearance in jewelry and fashion. Who knew that cross-stitch could be so chic?
What do you think of the Cross-stitch Comeback? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

PS. I am guest-posting at Habibi today about my six favorites for this season. Come by and say hi!)

i think it's great! it's very boho chic
I definitely like that the patterns have gotten more modern. My grandmother taught me to cross stitch when I was young and I used to sit with her and do it all the time. It's really a lot of fun. I have to say, I doubly like the use of it on clothing -- I'd never thought of that.
I am actually a fan of the cross stitched stuff! That top on the left reminds me Romanian folk shirts :) I used to have a bunch of those growing up!
i love it! especially the wall mural.
Thumb up! I adore the mural, I love that necklace, and the last blues is amazing! :)
Thumbs Up! Definitely. I remember those days I was hooked up with them. True beauty!
love those patterns for the clothes! and the drawings are amazing!
I love the vibrancy of the wall art! And both shirts are so pretty! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
xoxo
Totally love the top on the left. Thumbs up!
I like it on one or two shirts! It's a very pretty accent!! =)
Melanie's Randomness
I was literally just having this conversation in my head. I've started trying my hand at embroidery and have been using my old cross stitch materials. I think it's great on a tunic or shirt, but besides that I do think more old fashioned. But I'm biased - of course I think embroidery has so much more freedom!
i love those tops... they are so cute and girlie!
Thumbs up! And that second top is amazing :)
so cute!Great inspiration!
Thanks for sharing!
Follow me? I'd be very happy if you do it!
Thank you so much!

i think i could get used to it. although it is hard for me to not think of my granny's house :)
these are the most trendy cross stitch examples i've seen!
Dionne love the russian style
Love your piece, Dionne and the wall mural, as well. I used to do a lot of crosstich, but my vision does not allow it anymore. (can't read the patterns anymore.) I need a new hobby.
Fondly,
Glenda
that wall mural is so creative and gorgeous - what a statement it makes!
I'm not too fond of cross stich, but those tops are gorgeous, Dionne! xo
I used to cross stitch everything, Dionne! I loved it as much as needlepoint....sometimes more as you don't have to fill in those boring backgrounds!
Going over to see your guest post now...
Coming from a decidedly uncrafty home, I never cross-stitched, sewed, or knit growing up. I think for most people it's nostalgic, and since I didn't grow up with it, the nostalgia factor is lost on me!
I do wish I could sew though... that would come in so handy.
Love your blog! Everything about it!

I adore cross-stich!<3
I loove those tops you found...so so pretty!
I love the necklace! genius!
I think the cross stitch come back is great! My mum got me the Stitch! book by Cath Kidston. It has so many cool modern cross stitches that I am looking forward to doing, especially now it's easter break and I have more time on my hands.
love that cross-stitch is making a comeback! there's something so sweet and comforting about the pattern and now that it's been modernized it's even better!
That mural is amazing. I love how people can take things and change the way you perceive them. Cross-stitching as wall art- who would have thought. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoy the subversive cross stitch, they look all sweet but the sayings are stuff you probably wouldn't want hanging up in your kitchen.
