Stress Melters

Poor Brian has been stressed about work lately.

It's the usual stuff - deadlines, meetings, getting everything done in time for the holidays. I've been trying to help him relax more and not worry so much about it. So this morning I made Red Velvet Pancakes. I hardly ever do anything more than toast or cereal for a weekday breakfast, but I wanted to give him a nice start to the day.

I know that he likes to drink tea to wind down. And he likes to read when he's stressed - either a magazine, or his Bible - he told me that he really likes reading the Bible because he sees how God moves and what He's done for other people when they've been worried.

What other ways can you suggest he de-stress?

You're so cute. Such a good wife too :)

My life is not very stressful, but I like a nice hot jacuzzi bath soak and a good book to unwind.

You guys are so cute! My hubs destresses by cleaning. That is his big one and I am so grateful for that!

aww this is so cute. sorry to hear Brian is stressed at work. I'm currently in the same boat. Red velvet pancakes sound wonderful! Maybe tell him to do something that he knows will make him happy or will relax him. Watching a light movie or I dunno. Good luck!!

What are good woman you are to make those pancakes to de-stress him. You two are so cute :-)
I would recommend a long bath and classical music. And a massage. A cliché, but those three things work every time!

I give my guy really good hand massages after a full day of him editing, because his hands cramp up from hours and hours of typing. I recommend a back, shoulder, or hand massage to de-stress Brian :) I hope that helps!

Red velvet pancakes...mmm! My husband de-stresses with video games. I turn to a good book and a glass of wine or coffee. But I always make a list of what I need to get done, so it's out of my head and I'm not constantly thinking about it.

AWWW, that's so sweet of you to make him a special breakfast! I know I'm getting away ahead of myself, but I always think about married life and all the wonderful things that come with it--especially having someone by your side to support you and love you!

Anyway, the photo of you and Brian is adorable! :] For me, when I'm stressed, I like to go for runs!!

what a doll you are to spoil him with pancakes! My guy gets stressed too and loves a great shoulder massage to unwind (and of course some type of comfort food!) :)

Love the idea of "red velvet" pancakes! Only ever thought it was a cake recipe. So this was your plan for the Spode plate. Love it!

what a sweet gesture :)
I had a moment of over-stressedness last night that almost resulted in tears. I just talked to my boyfriend about it for a very long time. After getting it all off my chest and hearing his suggestions to take some of the load off, I felt a world of better. Sometimes just talking helps! For me at least

You two are such a cute couple! And I know you are helping with your culinary treats.
I de-stress by reading and sipping tea. It takes me out of myself for a while.
