Don't you agree that they are the ultimate mode of Pretty Transportation?
Back when I lived in Australia, John Travolta was made an Ambassador for Qantas Airlines. He went on what they called a "Friendship Tour", and flew around the country, greeting passengers as they boarded. I think that's such a fun idea. I would love to see a Tour Of Pretty.
A convoy of hot air balloons would tour the country, equipped with petite, pretty snacks for the passengers. The on-flight music would include a few songs by Zee Avi and Maria Taylor, and the balloons would stop at many pretty locations across the world - Paris, Florence, Noosa, Santorini, Solvang...
And the passengers would be adorned with jewelry from Petite Minx.
Monica is the owner/artist behind Petite Minx - one of my favorite jewelry stores ever! I have bought a number of little pretties from her collection, I just love her creativity, originality and style. Her jewelry is the embodiment of pretty - I just can't rave enough about how much I love her delicate pieces.
Five years ago, Monica was planning her wedding, and just couldn't find the right wedding jewelry for her big day - so that's when she decided to make it herself. And then from there, she started making jewelry for others, and thus the Petite Minx journey began! Drawing inspiration from different forms of visual art, Monica has cultivated a style that mixes a feminine presence with an edginess to it - she is able to take on classic inspirations, tribal influences, basically ANYTHING, and put it all together to make something truly gorgeous.
Monica's favorite colors are also things that I would like to see along my Tour of Pretty journey. She is drawn to jewel-tone colors, like amethyst, emerald and topaz, and also bright, airy colors with hints of grey. My tour of pretty would include a luxury train ride (ala Murder on the Orient Express) travelling through Europe. We would stop at every pretty spot and have a picnic, see the sights, and shop for pretty things (which you know in my case would probably include fabric). Sounds nice to me!

My "Tour of Pretty" would be going through the deep Fjords of Norway.(Where my Hubby is from~) Could you really imagine.. The deep valley of Dark blue water right next to those high mountains still peaked with beautiful white snow.. especially in a hot air balloon!! Wowsa It would need to be in the deep of their Summer of course :P And,maybe it would even be in the middle of the night knowing their midnight Sun~

My tour of pretty would be in a mod Airstream trailer, and I would start in Baja California, go past the Grand Canyon and up through Colorado and Wyoming, and then swing back north and west past Vancouver and up to Alaska.

I see hot air balloons every morning on my way to work. I really enjoy the view of all the balloons flying over my car. I have no idea why they are up there or who is riding in them.
My tour of pretty would be island hopping throughout the world. Maybe on a sailboat...that would be nice! I'm an island addict...thought I've never actually been to an island, just Mexico and Florida. I subscribe to the Islands magazine and drool over each issue that comes. My goal in life is to travel to as many unique islands as possible and collect jewelry, clothing, and art from each place and make a little "Island World" in my house!

my tour of pretty happens everyday - with my two little girls. in fact, just this morning we had a tour of pretty. they were all dressed up. and my "baby" was pushing my toddler around on a toy stroller.

me and all of my people would all wear cute little bubble skirt dresses with huge bows and bright colors and sparkles! and then we would board our pink hot air balloon (via a red carpet of course) and set off on our way around the world... stopping in every country to sample their best desserts! we would have tiramisu and gelato in italy, and macaroons in france, and mochi in japan... ooh and red velvet cake in the south :-)
ingrid michaelson would provide the live music, and dancing would take place in between stops (this better be a big hot air balloon). oh i am getting way to excited!!
