Lego and Carousels.
These two things bring out the kid in me.
This weekend Brian and I were thinking of something cool to do with my brother on a stormy day. We were at the mall and spotted the Lego Store. We couldn't resist coming out with a Lego Kit. We LOVE Lego. Every time I am in a Lego Store I spend waaaay too much time building things. I remember one time I was there with 3 other friends, and we all laughed noticing that only adults were playing with the lego sets.
Now they have these adorable cafe sets that are just about the cutest thing, but for $139.99, it's not the best impulse buy. We ended up with a cute yellow beach house kit and spent the weekend making all the different houses.

And as I said earlier - carousels bring me back to being a little kid again too. I am not sure if it's the pink, the gold, the music, or what - but I love them.

Oh, love the idea of that lego set. In terms of bringing me back to a kid--either riding my cruiser bike or blowing bubbles!

my nephew is totally obsessed with lego land! I love going to the lake...that makes me feel like a kid again, riding the tube around the lake and then flying off into the water.

awwww the little beach house is adorable!! legos are so fun! but I always have that dying urge to knock it down, it's just so tempting!

I think rock candy takes me back...but today we went to an old vintage candy shop and Jon got candy cigarettes, wax lips, and crooked candy teeth! I stuck with the dried fruit and granola though. Oh, and we had to get sodas: Orange Creamsicle for Jon and Sasparilla for me!
There are a couple of things that bring me back to being a kid: sour keys, swing setsn and lego too! I still play with it sometimes; I can remember about 5 to 6 years ago being home on a break from University amd busting out the lego. I built a lego RV, my Mum came home from work and was shocked saying "I think I have the only 19 year old kid who still plays with lego!"
I'm sooo with you on both legos and Carousels. brings me back to my childhood egos and Carousels!!!!
For me, listening to old music that I used to listen with my dad will bring back childhood memorits. Whether I'm on streets or restaurants or whenever I am at the time, if I hear a tune, it totally stops in my tracks and makes me smile.
It may sound strange, but that was one of the best time of my life - watching my dad pick a record and play on his turn table.. He had collected thousands of albums back in the days. I miss those days..
That bought back memories, I used to LOVE playing lego with my brother. Those two sets look really cute. The carousel is quite magical.
I want to get to work on one of those ASAP! Too bad the dude would eat them ASAP.
My lego projects never looked that good...Going to baseball games with my father always takes me back to childhood, as we always used to go see a Phillies game once a year. Now we only go together every couple of years.

So much fun! Fireworks totally take me back to being a kid... maybe because I can't watch them without clapping my hands and squealing with glee. *shrug
fire flys make me feel like a kid again. not many here in the high desert...so we have fire fly lights on the deck:)

It's so funny you decided to write about Legos because my husband and I were JUST talking about how much we loved playing with legos when we were kids. In his own words, he was and is a total "lego-geek." And he put his skills to work last weekend up at my parents house building with my nephews.
Barbies also totally take me back to when I was a kid. I could play with my barbies for hours on end. It was mostly dressing and redressing them in oodles of outfits and designing their houses. I wish I had kept some of my barbies!
I suddenly have the urge to play with Legos - NOW!
Hm...what brings me back? There are so many things! Off the top of my head, I'm going to say all the cartoons on Nickelodeon, moon shoes (remember those?) and video games (Mario Kart to be exact).
so fun ... love legos [especially now that i have a little one that loves them too] and carousels. such simple but fun pleasures!
love legos, my son adored legos to the point where i had to bring them many places we went or else! riding my bike brings me back to being a kid, always have loved riding my bike. i need a bigger basket on mine now, i love riding to the store for things for dinner and plunking them in my basket :) great post!
Lego!! I love my legos. The last time I went home (new years), I found my old stash of legos and was SO happy that I brought a small box of it back with me to Australia. haha, I've actually made some into necklaces!

I have to say, my sisters bring out the kid in me...we are crazy when we get together...lots of laughter!
It's amazing what people can do with Legos. That remind me, strangely, of these two story tall sand castles that are constructed once a year in the Mall of La. in Baton Rouge. Really intricate and mind blowing.
I like to buy lego candy and build stuff with it. :D

Your brother must be having such a great time with you two! When we lived in Minneapolis we lived 8 minutes from the Mall of America and they had this GIGANTIC lego area where large lego sculptures were on display and people could play with making in their own creations. So fun...
I would have to say the thing that brings me back to being a kid again is walking around barefoot in the orchard of my parents property among the fruit trees and berries...oh the memories! :)
