Battle of the Bries

What do you do when your husband wakes up feeling sick, calls work to say he's not coming in, and then goes back to sleep for 5 hours, and then wakes up and is feeling 70% better (note that it wasn't 100%, because if that was the case - OF COURSE he'd be going back to work)?
Shop together for Brie, of course!

I love cheese. The three C's of Dionne are Chocolate, Coffee, and Cheese. So basically, cheese is one of my three food groups. And one of the many cheeses that I loooove is a lovely, decorated Brie. Some are fruity, some nutty, some even chocolatey. Above are some of the pretty things we had to choose from yesterday at the store. Yes, they look like cakes, and yes, Brian has mistaken them for cheesecakes before (and in the past has totally taken a big slice of one and bitten into it, and even though brie is yummy, when you are expecting cheesecake, it's a shock!). I had such a hard time choosing between all of them, and in the end we decided on a Sundried Tomato Pesto Torte. Yummo!

When most people think of cheese, they think of wine.
I don't like wine.
I have tried and tried and tried to like it. When I was designing a wine label for a client, I went to this wine bar with my friends Eric and Heather, and we tasted a whole assortment of wines, but still - no good. I was telling Eric that out of all the wines that I have liked in the past, I have only liked them because they were the least revolting out of a whole bunch of gross wines.

Do you like cheese? Or wine? Or both? Or neither?

(A blog that makes me smile that is definitely a sweet little place - Jo's blog).

Sweet Dionne. Yes, I do like both wine and cheese. But only childish cheeses, like Brie and Camembert, there will be no Roquefort for me. Sorry to hear about you and wine, though. Have you tried a grape called Gewurtztraminer? It's very special and somehow not so wine-y, if you see what I mean. I'm pretty sure you'd like it. Bonne chance!

Ugh it's only 9am and now I'm craving a good 5 year gouda and glass of merlot! It's got to be 5 o'clock somewhere right? mmmmm cheese.....♥

I <3 Cheese. And Brie is amazing. The brie I like most is the Margaux de Brie which is so creamy and light and...*drools* The best.

I'm so so on wine. I'd rather have a gin and tonic, thank you.

Oh yummy!!! Cheese is divine with champagne -- for breakfast! xoxo

Oh, a girl after my own heart. No, I just can't get myself to like a glass of wine. I just had a conversation with someone last night about all the effort I could give to acquire the taste...but why all that work, y'know? I'm happy with a block of swiss from TJ's and an iced tea.

(Oh and the word verification for this comment included the word Booze in it. Ha!)

Neither. The only wine I "like" is Gewurtztraminer when I'm having it with desserts...

(ok, you got me...i'll take very, very, very good champagne with some oj and loads of cheese + sweet strawberries...)um, Dionne, once again...you've truly warmed my heart and i'm walking on clouds right now! merci beaucoup for mentioning me+my lil' world... xoxo jo;)

I do love both as well but I am far from being a wine expert, I am not posh enough I suppose. My friend Kirstin introduced me to a wine called Lambrusco, its cheap and can be found in any target..and its the only one Daniel and I will drink. Its chilled and sweet!

Love the 3 Cs for sure! A day starting with coffee and ending with chocolate, with some cheese in between would be perfect. Or really in any order or repeating throughout the day would work too! Oh, and I love wine... I haven't always, so maybe there's some wine in your future yet.

I have to admit, I'm a cheese AND wine girl...although I will take one without the other quite happily.

Love the drawings Dionne! AND I wish I had some of those cheese balls to pop right now..Okay, some wine too but that wouldn't go over too well at the office, during day light hours...

You know, I'm waaay more into cheese that wine, but I have had to learn to like some wines because everyone else around me seems to. I'm a wine weakling though, and only drink sweet stuff.

That said, I don't go a day without cheese...or chocolate. Mmmm....

Would you believe I have never had brie cheese before?! Never! I don't know why - I looove cheese and crackers. It's my favorite party snack :) I'm not much of a wine girl. I like a good Shiraz every once in a while but I never have a clue what I am looking at whenever I see a wine menu. I just get overwhelmed and choose Diet Coke!
